Celebrating the Miracle of Spring

The Miracle of Spring

Miracles...

Come in all shapes and sizes.
They fill our lives and world with wonder.
But none more inspiring or sustaining.
Than the miracle of spring.

We put aside our cares and worries.
To savor the moment.
And witness, once again.
The renewal of the earth.

Slush, mud and snow.
Cloudy days of  dark dismay.
Gratefully, left behind.
And in their place.
The colors of the season.
Begin to emerge.

Warm shades of yellow.
The full spectrum of greens.
Mauve and pink: a delicate floral  fabric.
Creamy, velvet white; as only spring can portray.
Blue skies, peeking out from the clouds.
The earthy, unmistakable  fragrance of the warming ground.

Miracles...I've seen my share.

But few compared to the miracle of spring.
A time to celebrate.
To honor the planet.
And all those living things that make it.
A miracle of nature.
Once again, come true.

Never Underestimate the Power of a SMILE!

How's this for one happy flower?

Daisies always make me smile. I gave this one a bit of an "embellishment" ;<)   But in real life, no embellishment is required, when it comes to beautiful and genuine smiles.

A smile can change our day; sometimes change our life.
Or the life of someone else, when we share a smile.

We should never underestimate the impact a smile can have.
The power of this simple gesture is truly amazing.

Smile: at those you love, to let them know they are special and never taken for granted.

Smile: at strangers, especially people who look sad or lonely.

Smile: at yourself, in the mirror. Or in the reflection of a window.

Smile: and make the world a better, happier place. :<)

And sending a smile to my "daisy" blog pal : Teri
Your daisy creations always make me smile.

Smile: Also my suggestion for this week's OSI prompt.

Word of the Week: Renewal

First, a timeless Christmas tune to set the mood... :<)

gotta love Luther's silky, sexy voice....

What a wonderful time of year to think about: renewal.

I was so happy to see this as a prompt over at OSI, especially at this special time of year.
Thanks dear Sandy for the great suggestion!

I hope that 2012 is a wonderful, prosperous and special year for all of my readers.

Here's to the wonder and possibilities of  renewal.

And to wishes and dreams that do come true!

Happy, Happy Holidays!

PS: I'm taking the month of January to complete my novel so I won't be posting for a while. I'll still be blog-visiting now and then and back to posting in February. See you all soon.

Word of the Week: Endure

There are days when all we can do is, to endure.

Hold on, hold fast.

Wait out the storm.

The sun will shine again.

Things will get better.

Enduring the hardships and set-backs in life.

Restored and perhaps realigned, stronger and wiser.

There IS a silver lining to be found, in every cloud.

Word of the Week: Manifest

Make a wish.

Align it with your life.

Never give up!

Imagine and savour the outcome.

Feed your dreams with optimism and light.

Expect the unexpected.

Seek like-minded people.

Triumphant!

Love and Remembering

It's been four years this month.
Your memory never fades.
I think of you every day.
And send you, all my love.

xxxooo

Dedicated to my dear mom: Helen Ruth Hartman, who passed on May 2007.

She loved to laugh and to sing. I think she would have loved my idea for a happy blog too, that's why I decided to post this tribute here.

Her life was one filled with all kinds of creative pursuits. She brought so much joy and beauty to the world.

I will treasure all the good times we shared, always.

Remembering and honoring our loved ones on the other side should be a joyous thing, in spite of the sadness. Holding on to all the good memories.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms.

Word of the Week: Give

Give: of yourself.

Give: your precious time.

Give someone an unexpected gift, for no special reason or occasion.

Give: your talent, skills and experience.

Give: your (complete) attention.

Give: a smile from the heart.

Give: a hug to someone who looks sad.

Give: yourself a gift (and don't feel guilty about it!).

Give: your very best and know that's enough.

Give: and make someone's day.

Give: and make the world  a better place.

♥♥

PS: This is a poem I wrote a while back. I've reworked the lines a bit in this updated version. Hope you enjoy it. To give is one of the true joys in my life.

PSS: I've decided to "resurrect" my Word of the Week, a regular (kinda, sorta) post series that I had over at My Poetic Path.

I hope that my word choices are inspiring to you and will be, throughout your week. A mantra perhaps? For myself, I am going to look for extra opportunities to give this week, in whatever ways I can.

Find Your Passion, Follow Your Heart!

"Live your life on your own terms.

To the beat of your own drum.

And to the rhythm of your own heart."

GHH

Isn't that what it's all about?

What or who (or lucky to have more than one) makes life exciting, unpredictable (in a good way) and worth getting up for.

Here's to following your heart, your passion, your calling.

Whether it's a talent, a person, a journey, a pursuit, a dream....whatever or whoever it is, it is so worth it.

It's what makes life a technicolor experience that we will invent and re-invent for ourselves, every second, minute, hour....a life well lived.

     Seize the day!
