Life Plan: A Thought-Provoking Quote

"The shoe that fits one person pinches another. There is no recipe for living that suits all cases. Each of us carries our own life-plan, which cannot be superseded by any other."

C.G. Jung

What do you think?

Are we all given one plan, one destiny for our lives when we are born? And then to spend the rest of our lives trying to ensure we have found the right plan/path/journey we are suppose to follow. I don't know if it is that simple or succinct.

On a completely different topic, this was the scene from our back porch last night.

You can see all of  the color and shape progressions of the sky that appeared in a period of only 5 minutes over at: My Poetic Path.

I'm just glad I got my camera out pronto!  :<)

Word of the Week: Perception

From a distance, a "time out" from our usual routine thoughts... what do we perceive?

"Perception appears to be automatic, but in fact it is a learned phenomenon. The world you live in including the experience of your body, is completely dictated by how you learned to perceive it. If you can change your perception, you  change the experience of your body and your world."

from the book: Ageless Body. Timeless Mind by Deepak Chopra

What a hopeful and inspiring message this is.

This is a book I would highly recommend. Written several years ago (perhaps there is an updated edition?) the insights and wisdom of the author still rings true. I am just finishing this book; it was not a quick read. A wealth of information to digest and consider throughout.

Wishing you a wonderful week!

An Inspiring Quote for the Day

I love this one.

The quote itself and Thoreau's beautiful, poetic choice of words.

“If one advances confidently in the direction of one’s dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”

Henry David Thoreau
