Mixed Messages from the Groundhogs!

There were mixed messages being delivered by the groundhogs of Canada and the U.S. today.

Click here to see another adorable photo and details of this year's weather predictions from these furry experts.

I'm going with the ones that said we are in for an early spring. :<)

Geraldine,
I love this picture,I always think this small, humble little creature looks so appealing.

Well, I too am opting for the spring decision - and it WAS overcast here for much of the day. :)

Funny, since we've had mostly very early spring like weather all winter long, in this part of Canada, it IS spring already, we don't need Wiarton Willie or anyone else to tell us and we'll take it, we'll take it!!! Best winter in YEARS!

I can see our resident groundhogs doorway from the back of the house. This morning, I checked for tracks.
Nothing!

Hi Brenda, Isn't this a cutie? found this pic over at Flickr. The one in the NP link is a funny one too. I am soooo ready for the spring, hope THOSE groundhogs are right!

Hi Cathy, We will take it! Yes, indeedy. Finally the sun peeked out here today, yippee!

Hi SandyL, Oh, how cool is that. You have some interesting "neighbours" where you are! :<)

Happy Weekend, G

Fun post Geraldine. I don't think we have groundhogs in AZ, but then it always feels like spring when we are here. I am sending some virtual sunshine and warmth to you and Chedman.

Hugs

Hi Teri, I feel that virtual sunshine on my face as I type this. ;<) I love winter and snow but not what we are getting here this year. Day after day of low clouds that hold in the pollution and smoke from wood stoves. It's hard on the breathing too. I am SO ready for spring.

Hi Brian, When I lived on the Prairies it wasn't all that uncommon to see snow very late, even in June! But I expect the flowers will be the next arrivals, here in BC. LOL

Hi Joe, Oh, me too!!!

Hi SandyC, You've got that so right, my friend. We were just discussing recently how amazing it is that the butterflies take flight and return to their chosen destinations, all by instinct. And how so much of the wildlife is sadly being disrupted by what humans are doing to their habitat. I subscribed to a butterfly blog yesterday (you know me and butterflies!) and it's been fascinating reading already.

Happy Week and Happy Spring (sooner than later please!!!) G :<)
