Life Plan: A Thought-Provoking Quote

"The shoe that fits one person pinches another. There is no recipe for living that suits all cases. Each of us carries our own life-plan, which cannot be superseded by any other."

C.G. Jung

What do you think?

Are we all given one plan, one destiny for our lives when we are born? And then to spend the rest of our lives trying to ensure we have found the right plan/path/journey we are suppose to follow. I don't know if it is that simple or succinct.

On a completely different topic, this was the scene from our back porch last night.

You can see all of  the color and shape progressions of the sky that appeared in a period of only 5 minutes over at: My Poetic Path.

I'm just glad I got my camera out pronto!  :<)

thanks so much for stopping by!!

I love that photo, what a wonderful view

I find my life plan is really just always a working draft :)

The colours in that photo are absolutely stunning. WOW. I can't believe how gorgeous they are.

The life plan is a hard question to answer. If there is a plan for me well, it seems a little badly planned. Haha. Maybe the actual life plan is learning how to cope with the plan. I can't really say. I guess it's all part of the journey!

I don't really agree with this quote. I do think our life-plan can change along the way and by us, not set out ahead of time as this implies. That's how I interpret that quote anyways.

Hi Diane, It was so nice to find your blog yesterday! So many of my former blog readers from over at WP have called it quits, sad, I miss so many of them. I like what you've said about the life plan, a work in progress too I think.

Hi Sel, It was an amazing show in the sky albeit a very quick one! I love this photo, it's my desktop background right now! The life plan ?? is one we'll be grappling with for a long time I think. It came to me last night that one of the things I need to do is NOT to obsess about problems I can't do anything about at present. Life should be about focusing on the day and making the most of each moment as it comes. I think maybe that was an important lesson to relearn for me. I don't think any of us have a badly planned life but it can get rough at times to see the light. It's always there though, things always change and they do get better. It is all part of the journey, I agree.

Hi Joe, There's a lot to think about in this quote. I wanted to post this one because I think it's something to consider over and above just accepting what Jung is saying at face value. I think it can be taken a couple of ways.

Hi Tajana, Welcome to MPP and Happy Break and thanks for your kind words at both of my blogs. Your photography is amazing! I love black and white photos most of all.

Happy Wednesday, G :<)

fun to see how we both were sharing a similar perspective in our posts this time.

A very thought-provoking post. At one time in my life I gave this a lot of thought and now I don't even think about it. I just enjoy the days that are left doing what makes me happy. I am surrounded by love and good friends. What more do I need!

Hi Tammie, And I loved your choir of singing blossoms! So pretty. Great minds eh...

Hi Teri, Love and good friends, sounds like you've got your plan all worked out. And I wish you LOTS of days left to enjoy all the goodness.

Hi Lorraine, You are so funny dear L. Donuts eh? Tim Horton perhaps? I use to spend a lot of time at Robin's 'cause my dear mom loved their lemon filled donuts. I'd give anything for a coffee break with her again. Sigh...sorry didn't mean to get carried away there. I hope all things are on the mend: my heart (there's been a hole in it for a long time), your camera...all of it!

Hugs to all, G :<)
