Word of the Week: Potential

Potential! Such a positive word.

I particularly like the second definition below: having possibility, capability or power.

When I stand and look at a scene like the one above, that's what comes to mind. Potential. Anything seems possible when you can stand and "drink in" the beauty and majesty of nature, the mountains, the waterways, the plants and flowers....

We should all strive to reach our full potential in life. It's something that I don't think anyone should ever give up on, whatever the circumstances, obstacles or detours along the way. Gifts and talents give us the potential to do so much.

I've been paying a lot more attention to these thoughts in the past few years. Trying to speed up the process of getting some long sought after goals either in progress or completed. It is a life long pursuit isn't it? But one that needs to be kept in mind. Time flies....and so quickly.

Hi Lorraine, I KNOW you've got oodles of potential! There will always be people who encourage us and those that make us doubt our talents and worth. I'm focusing on the first group! Hope you do too.

Hi Brenda, It was a nice scene. I took this one quite a while ago, happened to find it while tidying up my flickr acct. recently, I had forgotten this one. Seen one mountain seen...LOL!

Hi Magic, And how nice of you to join us at OSI today. What a great prompt you stopped by for too.

yes this is a nice thing to be inspired by...the hard part is the action and laying out the plan to do something with that potential and thats were i think most of us lack the vision or effort. i'm in the process of a big project that takes alot of vision and effort.

Yes, potential is a powerful word but only if we believe it and act on it....like you are Geraldine.

I LOVE that photo. Quite inspirational. Potential really is a word full of vastness and power. It can be hard to live up to our full potential as so many factors in life get in the way, but it certainly doesn't hurt to keep on trying!

Aloha Noel, I wish you every success with your project. Does it involve photography by chance? Just a guess!

Hi Teri, What would I do without you friend. Thanks for the lovely comment and all your encouragement, it means SO much.

Hi Sel, So very true Sel.
Try and try again. It's what we've got to do if we want to build on that potential and see hwo far we can go. Getting older helps to cement that truth I think, it certainly has for me. Time waits for no one....

Here's to reaching for all that potential!

Hugs, G
