Word of the Week: Endure

There are days when all we can do is, to endure.

Hold on, hold fast.

Wait out the storm.

The sun will shine again.

Things will get better.

Enduring the hardships and set-backs in life.

Restored and perhaps realigned, stronger and wiser.

There IS a silver lining to be found, in every cloud.

Also submitted for the OSI prompt: Endure.

Thanks for the inspiration Teri!

Hi Amity, Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad I've given you words to ponder. Welcome to Happy Break too!

Hi Gemma, How nice to "see" you again. A winning strength, I like that. Thank you Gemma.

Hi Tony, We learn that as time passes, don't we Tony. I know I did.

Hi Harshad, At the time it's hard to see but in the big picture, we can come out of the bad days, weeks..stronger, wiser and happier I truly believe that.

Hi Madelaine, I found this to be a challenging prompt but that was a good thing. It made me think about what there is about enduring anything that IS a good and happy thing. And this is what I found for myself to be true. Thanks dear M.

Hi Lorraine, And thanks for all your kind words and friendship. I've been blessed to have so many new readers here at HB recently, including you. It's meant so much. Your thoughtful comments always make my day.

Happy Sunday and Hugs, G

I like this, Geraldine. A lot!

It reminded me of a Bible verse,
"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance ..."

We must all endure certain circumstances at times in life. We can't give up, if we do, we are lost. This is an excellent word of the week and post.

It is beautiful and just perfect for all of us enduring hardships and yet, continuing on.

We must believe in that silver lining, proceed knowing it is there, even if we can't look up because the rain is falling so hard!

Hi Lisa, Me too. Thanks for stopping in.

Hi Jim, And that is true too. I like your rather fun take on this prompt, you took it in a unique direction!

Hi Joe, I hear you and I so agree. Sometimes, that's all we can do and giving up is never a good course of action.

Hi Teri, Thanks for the wonderful prompt and giving me a challenge with it. A good challenge, I really enjoyed working on this one. And a good word of the week too, I think.

Hi SandyC, We've got to take cover in the storm, break out the umbrellas and wait for the sun to shine again. It is always there, just behind a cloud.

Happy Week everyone, G

There is a line from a Pink Floyd song the goes

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way"

It always made me think about endurance and hanging on til things get better cos invariably they do indeed get better.

Great words! Unless we endure our hardships, we are unlikely to learn and grow!

Hi Margie, You are so nice, thanks dear Margie!

Hi Madelaine, Thank you again Madelaine.

Hi Cathy, What are the other options, giving up? No way, never the right way and yes, I do agree things eventually get better. Endurance can be a very good thing. I was a huge Pink Floyd fan btw, saw them in concert a couple of times, years ago! Thanks for the memories...

Hi PB, Learn and grow...what it's all about isn't it? And the way to progress in life. thanks for stopping in.

Thanks so much for your visits and comments, always appreciated.

I wish you all a wonderful week. G
