Mr. Cheddar, JJ and Ched's missing beret!!!

You might remember this photo and post from a while back, featuring Mr. Cheddar looking oh so handsome in his new knit beret!

A beret that only stayed on his head just long enough to take that (rather shakey) photo above!!!

Anyhow, it seems that another member of the family had "designs" on this hat:

That's right. JJ the Sock Monkey recently decided that this beret should not go to waste. Also, with the winter coming soon, perhaps JJ felt the need for a bit of headgear for himself. LOL

But, lo and behold, shortly after these pics of JJ were taken, Mr. Cheddar promptly went up and knocked the hat off JJ head in protest!!! Go figure. It was soooo funny to watch.

You can't have it both ways Ched. I made the hat for you but....if you aren't going to wear it, maybe it's time to learn the joy of sharing!

Hope these critters (real and not so real) bring a smile to your day! :<)

Mr. Cheddar: Kinda,Sorta...Back on Bug Patrol!

Is that a speck of dirt Meowmie or a BUG???

We've had a few warm days here recently and with it, the appearance of the first bugs/insects of spring.

It should be the time for Mr. Cheddar to spring into action and be on "bug patrol" . The reality the other night, was far from it.

It is a BUG!  Yikes....a big, big bug!!!!

That's better.

Stay on that side of the bar and we'll get along just fine, OK?

Oh Meowmie, I am not hiding behind my Cat Cave.

I'm just looking for something. Go away with that camera!

***

And that is exactly what happened.

The bug made a jump and Chedster did too. Right behind his Cat Cave, where he stayed until the bug disappeared. Amazing but true. LOL

As any of Mr. Cheddar's fans already know, he like to be considered strong and capable, especially in terms of his bug-catching abilities. But when it comes to BIG BUGS (click to check out some history on that subject) well....let's just say, some things never change.

We love ya Cheddie, even if you are afraid of bugs.

I wouldn't want to eat them either. ;<)

PS: Sorry for the blur...Camera shake unavoidable when it comes to capturing Ched and bug photos!!!

Mr. Cheddar: He's a Sophisticat!

After living with Mr. Cheddar for almost 5 years, I thought I knew everything there was to know about his likes and dislikes. But last night, I found out something new.

Mr. Cheddar is a big Matt Dusk fan!

In case you haven't heard of Matt Dusk before, here's one of his videos: Matt Dusk: Back in Town

Joe and I have been fans of this Canadian singer for a long time. We saw him in concert years ago and have a several of his CDs. He is a wonderful performer.

Last night while Joe was doing the dishes and I was working on some knitting, we had a Matt CD playing. Mr. Cheddar was almost finished his din-din except for a the last few kibbles left in his bowl.

Normally, when Ched is eating, we make sure that all is quiet and if we have music on, we turn it off so that he can enjoy his food with no noise to bother him.

Well, here's the funny part. Ched made seven (yes seven) trips to his kibble bowl to have a couple of bites, while Matt was singing in the background. And every time we turned off the music, he stopped eating! Apparently, Cheddar likes some mood music to go with his vittles.

How's that for one sophisticated feline?

Mr. Cheddar has never done this before. It's obvious that he is a big fan of Matt Dusk. Perhaps already a fan on his Facebook page etc...I wonder if Matt Dusk is a fan of Mr. Cheddar's? A lot in common already. They are both such good-looking guys with lots of talent! :<)

It really was a hoot, watching Mr.Cheddar dining to Matt's crooning! I only wish I could have captured it on video with sound. Maybe next time. ;<)

Word of the Week: Break

" I love Paris in the Springtime, I love Paris in the Fall...."

Ahhhh..... Monsieur Cheddar; you are tres handsome.

Doesn't he look dashing?

I made him this little beret recently and it was no small feat, getting a couple of pics of him, wearing it. A bit of "camera shake" trying too!!! He prefers chewing on it! LOL

We are all so in need of a break here. For many reasons (a lot of them beyond our control) it's been years since Joe and I have had any vacation, long or short. And we all do need a break, don't we? To regroup, re-energize, relax.... I hope one is possible soon.

I've also been thinking about all the ways that the word "break" can be a positive in life.

Some that came to mind:

-getting a break
-break free
-break loose
-a breakthrough
-break away
- a break from the ordinary/tradition/convention
-take a break
-gimme a break!

and of course!!!

-Take A Happy Break

Wishing you a wonderful week.
And do take plenty of breaks. You deserve them!<)

A Friday Chuckle from the Ched!

"Just try to move that leg Pawmie. No wait. In a half-hour or so you won't have to try, it's going to be oh, so numbey! Snort..... these humanoids, such fun to toy with!"

PS: One of Ched's fav places for a nap, snuggling up behind Joe's legs.

I'm glad he doesn't pick me for this! :<)

Mr. Cheddar's Got a Secret!

Mr. Ched, just a chillin....

Mr. Big Bug!

Mr. Big Bug under cover!

Too Big for Me Meowmie. Pleaaaasee...Make Him Go Away!

Although he may appear to be the strong, silent type, in reality, Mr. Cheddar is kind of a wimp when it comes to bigger (ie: more than 1/2 inch long)  bugs!

He jumps back out of their way, when they jump or move LOL, Tooooo funny.

So there's Ched's secret "bug-o-phobia " revealed.

When it came to fearless though, here's another story....

My dear little Mitzi (click to see a beautiful photo tribute).

Many of you will probably remember Mitzi from my other blogs. She was such a tiny, delicate, little cat but in spite of that she loved to  go and get big, UGLY grasshoppers out in the yard and either bring them to the back door as a "gift" or munch them with relish (yuuuuuuck!) I still remember the sound of that crunching!!!!

BTW, I did check with our excellent vet about bug-eating for cats. Apparently in moderation of course, it's ok! With Mr. Cheddar, no worries!

What Do Cats REALLY dream about?

How's this for a Sleeping Beauty?

No matter how many cat beds I've bought over the years, they always prefer a box and old blankie it seems.

Ched and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Well I know he would, if he wasn't sleeping right now LOL

Ched at Chow Time, the Video!!!

My first attempt at videos woo hooo... Mr. Cheddar in (in)action. LOL

I was trying to get him to do his fabulous "vib-ro-tail" routine, it is soooooooooooooo funny. He shakes his tale really, really fast when he is waiting for the kibbles to be poured BUT only when he wants to. That day, well you guessed it, nada, no way, no matter how much coaxing I did. Even the camera strap dangling didn't work, again only when "his majesty" wants too!!!

I hope you enjoy this Ched debut video and DO share any tips, how-to's for filming videos with a regular digital camera, if you have any suggestions. I used the default settings. I know this isn't the best picture quality (better viewed in the small window, not full screen btw) but even so, isn't Mr. Cheddar just the cutest? I am such a proud Meowmie LOL, no matter what he does or doesn't do!

I still think he was doing D-O-G tricks!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, from me and the (d-o-g loving) Ched.

I have yet to meet (or be owned) by any cat who doesn’t gravitate to black/dark clothing.
