Lilacs are one of my all-time favorite flowers.
I love everything about them. The beautiful pastel shades of mauve,creamy white,pink.. The tiny, perfectly shaped petals, the unforgettable and unmistakable, glorious fragrance.
And best of all for me, the sweet memories they bring to mind of being a little girl and enjoying the lilacs coming into bloom, in early summer.
We had two lovely lilac trees in our yard, that burst into soft mauve blooms about this time each year. Then my mom filling the house with vases of these beauties. I remember it like it was yesterday.

And speaking of yesterday, I was given a bouquet of mauve lilacs to enjoy and I am savoring their fragrance as it wafts through our home. They can't bottle this kind of scent perfection!

Oh how I love this...Lilac and peonies and my memory of childhood same we had the most beautiful purple Lilacs on the side, and peonies in the front and I remember 'cause - well it use to be out on May 5, which was my dad's birthday, so I have a lot of happy memries, which you have just awaken, thank you sweetie, love your post
I love lilac and all the flowers! I really love spring and summer, it makes me feel to happy and excited to see the gardens filled with green and other colors :D
Same here! Just a whiff of lilacs can bring back memories of home. Isn't that really so strange?
I have a lilac bush in my front yard and it's in bloom now!
Brought some lilacs in this morning and have them on my kitchen table.
Such a wonderful fragrance in my house right now!

Hi Margie,They don't last long but while they do, amazing! I saw some really deep purple ones here on Monday, hadn't seen this color before. Love all the colors but mauve ones, still my fav. Enjoy all the wonderful fragrance Margie, in the house and out!
